How to Bridge from Fantom to Polygon (Matic)

Requirements 📝

Bridging from Fantom to Polygon ⛓️

There are two ways to bridge funds from one network to another — using a decentralized bridging platform, or simply using a centralized exchange that supports both networks.

1. Using a bridging platform

Bridging platforms such as Synapse can be used to bring your coins from Fantom to Polygon, without the need of using a centralized exchange like Binance.

Take note though, that this can be complicated depending on how experienced you are with using smart contract platforms. However, it shouldn’t be a problem if you’ve had experience using DEXs such as Uniswap or PancakeSwap, as the process is pretty similar.

If you want to go through with using Synapse, you can follow this video guide:

2. Using a centralized exchange

The far easier solution.

You simply deposit your coins to crypto exchanges like Binance that support withdrawals to Polygon. Then, you withdraw the coins (like how you withdraw most cryptocurrencies), with the only difference of choosing the Polygon option rather than other blockchains.

Exchanges that support both the Fantom network and the Polygon network

  1. Binance
  2. KuCoin

Steps

  1. Send over your FTM/USDC/USDT to your exchange account
  2. Sell your FTM/USDC/USDT for ETH
  3. Withdraw your ETH to your Polygon wallet address

You have now bridged your coins from the Fantom network to the Polygon network.
