The blockchain play-to-earn game Axie Infinity is all the hype recently, especially with it gaining a lot of traction in developing countries such as the Philippines. With the game earning revenues upwards of 10 million USD per day.
But with that said, is the game actually profitable on the player’s side?
The Answer.
Yes. You can actually make money in the game, and you can easily re-earn your initial investment in around 2-4 months.
But, how?
Axie Infinity players earn money through farming and collecting the cryptocurrency Smooth Love Potions or “SLPs” daily.
Per day, you can earn 100 SLP through the Adventure game, 50 SLP through the daily quest, and potentially more if you can beat the other players in the Arena(basically player vs player).
And after 2 weeks of playing daily, you should get at least a minimum of 2100 SLP(150*14). Which then, you can sell on your favorite cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance and FTX.
How much can I earn?
As with any other cryptocurrency, the price of each unit of SLP is extremely volatile.
Today, its price could be $0.20 each, then the next day it could be $0.17 each, then the next day it could be $0.24 each, etc.
The best way for you to know how much you can earn is to take a look at its price yourself! Either on CoinMarketCap or on CoinGecko.
After looking at the live price of SLP, you can simply calculate yourself! Just grab the amount of SLP you can earn every 2 weeks(which is 2100 SLP at minimum), and multiply that number to the current price of SLP.
Let’s assume that the current price is $0.20 per SLP. $0.20 * 2100 = $420 every 2 weeks, which is $840 per month. Not bad for a video game, huh?
How much do I need to invest?
An Axie team consists of 3 Axies.
“What’s an Axie?” you say,
An Axie is basically a small plushie-like animal that you’re going to use in battle; which has 8 classes available, just how like you have classes like water, fire, leaf, etc classes on the classic game we all know and love, Pokémon.
Now, just like SLP and cryptocurrencies in general, the prices of Axies also fluctuate up and down on the daily due to the fluctuations of demand. But mostly, one Axie is priced at the $300-$800 range, depending on how good an Axie is.
And, multiply that to 3 Axies, then one Axie team costs around $900-2400. Sounds like a hefty amount of money, but you really don’t need to pay for the expensive axies. Most of the time if you end up being a good player, the $400 Axies should more than suffice.
How do I buy Axies?
While you can buy from other people on social media, we heavily recommend purchasing Axies on the official Axie Marketplace instead, for your safety.
And when buying from the Axie Marketplace, you’re going to need some Ethereum(ETH) because it’s the Axie Marketplace’s main currency.

How many hours do I need to spend for playing?
At the beginning with your first week, you’re going to need to spend at least 3-5 hours per day to meet your minimum 150 SLP. This is because the level of your Axies are very low hence longer times to finish the 100 SLP on the adventure game, and because of the fact that you’re still a beginner with the game in general.
After like a month, you should easily reach the 150 SLP per day with only spending 1-2 hours per day.
